Typically community nursing is reserved for senior level nursing students. I don't believe she had even been through an advanced medsurg rotation yet.(according to the class/clinical rotations posted on Umass Amherst website.)

LE release the pictures from the ATM video like they do in so many other cases? The family was pleased with the investigation that the FBI did, so I'm assuming they have this information but aren't disclosing it maybe??? Quoted from looking for moose I believe that if there was a video at ATM or Liquor store, someomeone from the Murray family DID see it. Otherwise, they would be screaming to see it just like going to court in NH. MHO

If need be I'll go back and retrieve the actual article but the Dean of students stated Maura was a the top of her class. Whichever classes those were and wherever they were, Maura was maintaining an exceptional grade point average.

hi all, if the Murrays had been allowed to see a video in Amherst of someone at an ATM why has there never been an update on what this person was wearing for the wanted poster and the web site. Also i have never seen a family of a missing person ask for help but not say where she may have last been seen.In my opinion it goes way beyond unusual.Maybe LE have all they need in Amherst.take care philip

WTF - I think you are our resident mathmatical expert.. I am not a statician - think that is what Mason called it. After reading Mason/EB info on the other murders to figure out an average of crimes per capita wouldn't the following be the formula.. I'm not a math expert by any means - square milage - residents = total divide by crimes.( several answers - divide by murders, missing persons, rapes etc.. You could do this for any area in the US - wouldn't that be a fair equastion?

x % of murders for Wenatchee x % of rapes in Wenatchee etc. Then we can see if there is a isolated part of the country that has higher percenatage of a certain crime. Im still reading the info that EB and Mason sent over. Never witness a dismemberment :-) only have seen on the movies but it is a mess - bodies hold ALOT Of blood - the splatter etc and we know from too many cases - bleach does NOT get rid of it. Out in the woods - you still would need to partly clean up.. Morbid .. Morbid.. off topic but I watched the movie Saw 3 - not my pick but I watched.. just gross to think people in this world actually do this kind of stuff..........

Dawn, I believe the last case of that nature in New England was the Boston Nanny in 1996. Down here in North Carolina (2) women were abducted from Wilmington one year apart from one another, 2005 & 2006 I believe. Last spring their remains were found in a sparsely wooded area off a a heavily travelled road in Wilmington. The women's bodies had been dismembered and it was determined through forensics that the remains had been placed exactly one year apart from one another. I believe the FBI reported there are over 30 serial killers at large in the United States as I write.

citigirl wrote: <quoted text>it had already been stated long ago that Maura's clinicals were at Holyoke and Norwood. See Topix Message # 12180 at p. 604, Took me awhile to find Citigirl's post. Yes, Maura had to go to Norwood for clinicals, which is a 200 mile round trip. I also recall that she stayed overnight near there at a fellow nursing student's home with whom she'd gotten a ride. They didn't return to Amherst because there was a bad storm and they had to return to Norwood the next morning. This is the person from whom she borrowed the scrubs. Question: We've been told that Maura returned the laundered scrubs to this student on Monday, Feb. 9th. Did she drive the Saturn to Norwood to return them? Anyone know the student's name? Did the PIs interview her? Did she verify what we've been told? What time did she see Maura? Did she notice anything unusual about Maura's mood? Did Maura tell her she was going to be absent for awhile due to a death in the family? Did they discuss the impact her absence might have on Maura getting credit for the semester? Fred

Great points Fred. I need to take a look at a map to see where that is in reference to Haverhill - 100 miles away - then 100 miles back to amherst and then to haverhill? This could really change the timeline.......... It was a close time line already... However, since I don't know the area maybe Norwood is actually closer. I don't know. When I do look at the maps of the area - it seems there are so many ways to get one location - very different where I come from - due to mountain passes and only two options - can't take a back route - there isn't one.

She also said there is no liquor store video. I recommended she or Fred should contact LE and ask to see the ATM video to confirm identity. She hasn't posted a message informing us whether she or Fred followed my advice. Fred

Norwood is in the opposite drection. It's SE of Amherst in the general vicinity of Hanson, which is where Maura was born and raised. Hanson is south of Boston. Fred

Peri Not being familar with clinicals. Just curious - if you were to be out a week - wouldn't you need to also let the hospital know where you would be working. Wouldn't they need to arrange for additional staffing for patients? Not sure how it works - a sick day here and there - but a weeks worth ?? most hospitals are understaffed these days at least in the usa.
