Thank you E.B. I wasnt looking forward to typing all of that out again.
Also I am under the impression that Riddle is living in Portland NOT Boston. Unless someone knows something that I don't.
He's living in Boston, according to the registered sex offender list I checked over the weekend. It was just updated on March 5th.

Ok, REGARDING THE SCRUBS (that weren't scrubs).

This information was posted on the old MMM forum in August 2007. I have edited to exclude information not pertinent to the returned clothes:

Helena could you once again give the location of where Maura dropped off the scrubs?(snip) Anyway, I would appreciate the information on the name of the place once again, just want to make sure I have it right.

Peri - I've had the same questions/thoughts.(snip)(not to be anal but it wasn't scrubs she was dropping off, I believe Helena wrote it was an outfit not scrubs...no big deal but as long as we're trying our best to keep our facts straight I thought I'd toss that in.)

Helena wrote:
Scooter...thanks for correcting that. Peri...the outfit was left outside of a dorm room at UMASS Amherst...for the record, my son naps whenever he can at any time. He gets up at 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. most days and during the school year has some night classes...napping anytime in the afternoon is not uncommon.

END QUOTE.

Bottom line: The clothing returned was not scrubs (if it matters one way or the other) and was returned to the doorway outside a dorm room ON THE UMASS CAMPUS.

The person with whom they'd stayed was a friend of Maura's ride to clinicals, not the friend herself (else how would she have given Maura a ride to clinicals, if she herself lived in Norwood?) I don't know whose clothes they were--the ride's or the friend's.

Sadly, so am I. In CT the stores couldn't even be open except for stores like delis/bakeries.

Sales tax, tobacco tax, etc.

Liquor stores in MA are open Sunday if the store (or maybe the town) is within 10 miles of another state in which liquor is also sold.

* MASON's COMMENTS *
The official cause of death is "stabbing."
She was found fully clothed and she was not sexually assaulted.
Her body was found about 200 yards from the Glen Boulder Trailhead and close to Rte 16.
----------
Mason, Ms Chaput's cause of death was officially listed as stabbing. It is my understanding that she was killed by the knife wound to her throat. I have never heard it said in any official report or even rumor that she did not have other wounds, and I certainly have not heard that she was not sexually assaulted. Furthermore, there was a significant period of time between when she went missing and when her body was found. The area had been searched. People in the area believe that she was abducted, and given the missing time, that is not an unreasonable assumption.
I reviewed materials submitted to me by Helena Murray. Ms. Chaput was found fully clothed on November 22nd. She was last seen on November 15th, very close to the location where her body was found. I believe it's more likely that her body was missed during early searches rather than her having been abducted, killed somewhere else, and returned to the area from which she was abducted.

This is not unusual. It happened in a case I handled in Pierce County, WA in the late 90s. State v. Guy Rasmussen. The victim was a 10-year-old named Cynthia Allinger. Ironically, a prosecutor employed by the same office that prosecuted Rasmussen was a member of a search team that practically stepped on her body without seeing it a few days before another search team found it.

I did not see any reference to a sexual assault in Ms. Chaput's case, which is something that I would have expected to see if it happened, and this is one of the reasons why I cannot exclude her as a victim of the Connecticut River Valley Killer.

This is the best I can do with the materials Helena provided. She did not have access to police reports and the autopsy report. Neither do I.

There is maybe a Sunday liquor exemption for resort areas, not sure.

I think Deerfield or Montague would probably be the closest places to Amherst to return empty beer containers on a Sunday. For what it's worth.

Since they were left outside of a dorm room ? We really don't know if Maura herself left them there either.......... interesting. I wonder who this friend is...... if she came forward..

I believe she is the same young woman who drove Maura to clinicals in Norwood, so yes, she has spoken to the family (and presumably the UMass police and/or FBI) Please note that I said "I believe"....not 100% sure.

hi all.I am here to help find Maura. The Murrays have not seen video of Maura 3 hours before she went missing and my point was and is why was the missing poster not updated with a clothing description of what the person at the ATM was wearing.Same goes for the shoes and the backpack that were described on the old forum. They were only said to be closely looking to what Maura may have had.I am going from memory and i could be wrong but the phone originally was not the same exact model that Maura had and was changed later. As for Gary Lindsleys article and all the others, the story has always been the same.Maura was repOrted to have been in a one car accident on rt.112 in NH.NOBODY knows if Maura went to N.H.Some people believe that the saturn never hit the tree and was parked or got stuck there.I have 3 people telling me there were no clinicals in N.H. when Maura was at umass Amherst.I have others saying she was asked to leave Westpoint.I AM HERE TO HELP FIND MAURA MURRAY. That is my agenda.WHY and WHO wants to send the forum away from Mauras prior life is curious.I have to pray it is for a really good reason or they actually believe what they have been told but so far those facts have only produced 2 things .Maura is gone and her fathers car was found in N.H.Two facts, that is it.As for her running for umass Amherst maybe someone else could call or email Julie Lafreniere and ask when Maura was last on the roster before she vanished. Also if someone could find an article that announces the start of clinicals in Norwood M.A. in 2004 it would be great.take care philip

I still wonder how anybody in the W-Man household could possibly have seen the charger on the dashboard. Because the car was facing them! The charge light is down low, too slow.........HA!

Even if someone was sitting there using a plugged in cell phone that gets zero reception, you will not see any red glow IMHO unless the car was sideways, and it was not sideways.

I never would have thought to include Louise Chaput as a possible victim of the Connecticut River Valley Killer because I thought his last victim was Jane Boroski, the woman he stabbed 27 times near Keene, NH in August, 1988. Fortunately, she survived and she provided a description of the man and his vehicle that closely resembled Nicholaou and his vehicle. He was living in Holyoke, MA at the time and moved to Charlottesville, VA a few months later. Until recently, I didn't believe he ever returned.

The original list of probable Green River Killer victims compiled by the Green River Killer Task Force listed 49 victims. The earliest victim on the list was last seen in July, 1982, and the last victim on the list was last seen in late December, 1983. The Task Force assumed he stopped killing. They were wrong. He killed his last victim less than a year before he was arrested in the fall of 2000. They didn't realize he was still active because he started abducting victims from new locations and he dumped their bodies in different areas. Other than those two differences, his modus operandi never changed. The final list of 48 victims included women he killed after the Task Force thought he was no longer active.

This experience causes me to suspect that the Connecticut River Valley Killer did not stop killing in 1988, unless he died or was imprisoned. If Nicholaou was the Connecticut River Valley Killer, I would expect to see a trail of similar homicides wherever he went after he left New England and, if he returned, I would expect to find another victim in New England.

Nicholaou committed suicide in Tampa, FL on 12/31/2005. Chaput was murdered on 11/15/2001. Therefore, if the police look for evidence that Nicholaou was in New England in November, 2001, I believe they will find it.

We don't know what happened to Maura. For all we know, she may be alive. If she was abducted by a serial killer and murdered on 2/9/2004, Nicholaou may have been responsible.

I believe he was hunting for a victim in the White Mountain National Forest 26 months earlier, so I can't exclude him from being responsible for Maura's disappearance. I hope LE follows the same analytical approach and include him as a potential suspect unless they find conclusive evidence that he was in another part of the country when she disappeared.

With spring only a few days away, I hope LE and the PIs include on their places-to-be-searched list previous locations where Nicholaou dumped bodies because he did that before.

Agreed - because the cig adapter is down below by the gear shift. Even standing next to a car you could not see it unless it was turned just right. The cord could easily be facing down and you wouldn't even see a light...

Your expertise in showing how this also - fit another serial killer - green river murderer. Does give us a pattern on how serial killers operate. They can't stop - learn from the ones that we catch.
