You are correct. I believe it thins the blood and makes it quicker for someone to freeze to death.
If I'm wrong I know someone will correct me.

yeah, i have. i have some knowledge about the rigors of men's prep school/college hockey. NHL good enough?
i am also the mother of a daughter...and have had the privilege of being in the company of her friends, as well.
thanx for the "snotty" "elitist" and "uncaring".
next time one of the ladies call you a schizo, i'll just cheer 'em on. ok?
That's exactly what I thought you'd say because you are certainly one of those "ladies." You're not even close to being neutral, as you keep claiming. You are far - FAR - more interested in calling me a schizo than in lifting your little finger to find out what happened to Maura Murray. You could, right now, in the next 24 hours, if you were committed to finding Maura Murray, do something that would be very helpful to finding her. I've done all I can in that way, but you and the one or two dozen other regular posters could do the same and THAT would put some pressure on LE to move this case along.

But you won't, will you? You're too busy getting upset with me to give finding Maura Murray the priority she deserves. You do what they all do. You place a priority on attacking another poster that is higher than actually finding out what happened to Maura.

Prove your dedication. DO something.

You made an elitist remark, I called you on it. You got mad. And that's the extent of your contribution to finding out what happened to Maura Murray.

used to really like her...but then came to believe she can go well beyond bringing visibility to bringing harm to families.
seems she'd pick up Maura's case again...as she has before?

I see a possibility that one person could drink from the bottle, the other drink from a cup, or just 1 person drinking from a cup that was poured into.
Here's some thoughts though.
Its not really practical to pour drinks while driving, into a cup - at least alone.
I could imagine a drink being pourded into a cup before leaving or at a stop - but I'd think it would make a better chance to spill somewhere along the way - in a lone driver scenario.
Two people in the car - drinks can be poured.
Now on the other hand.
Don't St. Bernard dogs have a bit of alcohol in a barrel on a necklace around their neck - so that if someone is found stranded - they could warm up by having a drink.
I mean it was reasonably cold up there - and the Alcohol could have been there for, amongst other things, to warm up. It would probably be cold in that car after it stopped. I wouldn't blame her for that. Especially if convinced she wouldn't be driving in the next few hours.
I imagine that Maura would have learned in high school the danger of drinking alcohol in a cold environment. No, drinking alcohol is not an option if you're trying to stay warm.

That was my best guess. You wouldn't believe the stuff rolling around in my car. It's SO annoying, but apparently not annoying enough to clean it out. Paris, I believe a recyclable can "escaped" too!
I talked about this a little bit after reading the Seventeen article.....that says it was Skyy malt, which Maura and her friends sometimes mixed with wine (eugh!). So I didn't know whether to think it was an escaped recyclable, or that perhaps Maura *was* drinking wine mixed with the Skyy malt, and using the soda bottle as the mixing container.

Pretty sure that was on the other forum. Because I remember asking Bobfather if he knew what splatter patterns wine would make if mixed with Skyy malt....maybe made it stickier. I know that when y'all were throwing wine around at stuff, it didn't make the right drip patterns.

The other tow truck (flat bed) could have had a AAA contract, but obviously would not be restricted to only AAA calls.

If a tow truck showed up before police were called - or if police simply had not been called at all - then the Saturn could have been taken to the Jerome Ave of Haverhill, or Lisbon, or... or... or Bethlehem, as the case may be.

And crushed.

What? There's not a question there. You asked a few minutes ago why "everyone" is so eager to discount the possibility that there were two people in the car. I don't think anyone's discounted that, certainly not in a wholesale manner.

Just because people don't respond to you immediately (or sometimes at all) doesn't mean they don't hear you or don't necessarily agree with you. Sometimes it just means they're chewing on something else right that moment.

I'm not trying to be aggressive. I just don't like seeing you get all up in a lather about it when it happens. You've been doing it a lot frequently.

Paris - I forgot a few things.

First - there is an Internet Archive called the Way Back Machine that might help:
http://www.archive.org/index.php

Also a News Library:
http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives

Thing to know here is that some things won't show up at Google or Yahoo, but instead within some of these types of sites.

Also - White Wash - the first article Elsewherebriefly posted was from
Boston Globe, The (MA)- February 20, 2004

I just found it at News Library.

I think you will have good luck there.

Beagle,
You are absolutely right there. A pickup truck possibly towing the Saturn for some distance was what I primarily had in mind.
And I do think that it is possible that the white cloth in the Saturnīs exhaust pipe might have been put there in order to warn other motorists coming up from behind.
Also: Is it established as a "fact" that the automatic transmission of the Saturn was in the "Neutral" position when found?
If so, this could conceivably indicate that the Satur might have been towed some distance.
IMHO.
If towed by a pick up using chain or rope, etc., then all four of the Saturn's wheels would obviously have been on the ground. No reason they could not have simply used the parking lights on the Saturn for a short tow. A long tow is out of the question as it's illegal.

I'm not sure whether tow bars (usu. small, triangular units attached to a class 3 hitch) in a case like this are allowed in NH or not. They're kind of like the ones used by RVs to haul a small vehicle.

Article number 3 (or are the second and third paragraphs from the same article?) is from:

Boston Herald (MA)- February 10, 2005

Boston Herald - February 18, 2004

Says something similar to paragraph two.

I think it's probably one of those things that seems and feels like a good, warming idea at the time, but I believe you're right, that medically it's not the best move in either case.

There's a very good chance that Maura Murray and David Eliot Marks (b. 2/23/1952) had a common "friend." If so, then there's an even better chance that Maura would have met with foul play.

If David Marks and Maura Murray knew the same person, and had a unique and similar relationship with him, then there's a very serious problem. Call me a schizo all you want, but try to find out what really happened to Maura Murray.

Is Maura Murray worth any effort? An effort to discover whether there's a useful connection between her and David Marks - a connection that could lead to finding out what happened to her and where she is?

Or is is more fun to call me a schizo?

What are your priorities?

Maura Murray and David Marks very probably had a certain "friend" in common. This could well be a very important clue. I only discovered this a couple of days ago and am truly shocked.

Find out about a probable common "friend" Maura Murray and David Eliot Marks (b. 2/23/1952) may have shared. David Marks died an untimely death in his mid-late forties. There is very good reason to believe that Marks was involved in the same crowd as Maura Murray. And she may have met the same fate.

for the record, i hadn't called you schizo, but previously defended you against cruel remarks.

as "Pansie", however, you did a pretty good job on making accusations about Maura's mental health.

SB most recently expressed extreme frustration about your many monikers; i agree.

i have no obligation to prove anything to you, and find your theories to be bizarre and violent.
