The laboratory was run by James Robl, a genial and well-respected animal science researcher then on the faculty of the university [UMass]. In 1990 a graduate student in his lab named Philippe Colas (now at the University of Oslo) embarked on a series of experiments attempting to improve basic techniques of cloning, using the rabbit as an experimental species. At some point, as something of a lark, Collas decided to remove some cells from his own cheek and fuse them with the egg cells of rabbits. "We were thinking pretty far out in those days," Collas said. "I did some pretty wild stuff, including cloning myself and also Jim's technician. I was making some beautiful embryos, and the all went to the 32 or 64 cell stage." "They didn't tell me until after they'd done it," Robl recalled. "They were laughing about it, not taking it seriously. So we started watching [the eggs], and they started cleaving, or dividing. And the more they started cleaving, the more nervous I got."

So why FIND Maura Murray? Why not MAKE another Maura Murray? A surprising number of people are doing it with their dead dogs. If they lose a beloved dog, they just get another one, exactly like the one that died.
Except your science is flawed, not just your logic. Cloned animals don't have the same personality as their originals.

(I mean, leaving aside the obvious, which is that it's appalling to contemplate.)

If you have to ask these questions then there's no sense in answering them. This is disgusting and way over the top Beagle even for you.

Sorry, you're not making any sense.

What about the backhoe? Could a backhoe have been used to dig a grave in February 2004, seeing that the winter was, IIRC, much warmer than normal that year.

Does the shovel have teeth? Like ones that could have made a dent in the hood of the Saturn?

Could Maura Murray have collided with a backhoe on Rt. 112? And then the car was brought back over the Bath/Haverhill line? But her body was taken and a grave dug with the backhoe? Just like in a cemetery?

Your reply, because of your experience, could be of some help. Thank you.

Let's say, just for example, that the bus driver drove a bus owned by one person. Altogether, that's one bus owned by one person who is also the bus driver's employer. For the moment, forget about an international chain of buses.
Would this fact be dismissed out of hand - summarily and immediately rejected - if the driver's employer worked across the street from SW?
Or you can also think of it this way. Forget it was a bus driver that stopped. Make believe it was a dump truck driver. The dump truck was owned by someone who owned only one dump truck. The dump truck driver was employed by the dump truck owner. The dump truck owner/employer worked across the street from SW.
Would there be any reason to have some interest in this? Would that be considered worth looking into a little more?
I would really like some feedback on this - without the nonsense of their being some 700 plus First Student offices across the country, which is completely off the track here. Please address only, for now, the single bus or single dump truck hypo. Thank you.
The problem I see with this is explaining how the emails were sent out saying a week was needed for a death in the family.

Okay, so stick with the backhoe scenario. Could a backhoe have dug a grave in the vicinity of the Rt. 112 curve?

Could the Saturn have collided with a backhoe operated by someone with poor peripheral vision? Someone who didn't see the car? Maybe Maura was driving the Saturn on or near Rt. 112 and collided with the shovel end of a backhoe. Isn't that possible? And then the backhoe was used to dig a grave?

Maybe the collision took place in Bath, but the car was brought to within the town limits of Haverhill for some reason.

Maybe this is more conventional? It certainly does not stray far from the Rt. 112 curve.

I joined in with this forum to help give info about the area to people who are not from here as I am. I didn't join it to have some complete Idiot take what I say and blow it out of proportion. I have given my legal name when I post on here so that should have told you something you amazing sleuth BEAGLE. I will not post here again, nor will I ever on any other forum again. Come on, people. If you had actually driven down Rt. 112 in winter and someone almost hit you with shovel end of a backhoe near the Rt. 112 curve, wouldn't it at least cross your mind that the same thing may have happened to Maura Murray?

Oh, okay, I get it. The backhoe theory, like the stem cell/cloning theory, is way far out there. Really weird. You'd think a backhoe theory that hardly wanders from the Rt. 112 curve would get the Duck Patrol's seal of approval. Guess not. How come?

Another phantom poster. Can't answer a simple question about a backhoe. How come? Got kind of riled up over that, didn't she? Or he?

The emails are ultimately integral to Maura's dissapearance. Hypothetically, if a person near Maura in Amherst were responsible for Maura's disappearance, that person - who may or may not have known Maura would have to be able to gain access to her car, her dorm, know who to email to take time off ect. and do all of this unnoticed. Plus in the mean time - that person would have to arrange to drive the car to New Hampshire as well as a bus, leave no trace and never have anyone come forward about what happened in future arrests to make plea bargains with police, etc.

I don't see how all the above could have happened.

Not matter how you try to distort what I wrote, you cannot deny that cloning is cloning. As I said the first time, from a BIOLOGICAL viewpoint, the clone is the same. That's the idea. That's why they call it a CLONE!

Obviously, as the embryo progresses toward adulthood, its personality will be different from the original because it would not have the same environment. It would not have the same experiences, and obviously not the same memories.

The notion that the personality would be different is completely irrelvant. The BODY would be the same. That's what cloning does. It provides a replacement body.

Neither do I. But that still does not answer - or even address - the question.

If Maura was seen and talked to at the Rt. 112 curve by someone whose employer worked right across the street from Maura Murray's dormitory complex (SW), then would that be something worth looking into? Especially since the employee (driver) was the ONLY one to have said he saw and talked with Maura Murray that night.

This is not a really hard or complicated question to answer. I'm talking - as an example - one driver of one commercial vehicle who works for one employer in Amherst who him/herself works across the street from SW.

I'd just like some straight up replies, that's all. Thank you.

Simple, straight forward questions - questioons that could help find Maura Murray - go unanswered.

How come?

So who, occupationally speaking, never answers any questions? Let me guess. Cops? Just maybe?

I first wanted to thank Sharon for responding to Pike's comments regarding the supervisor who spoke to Maura the last night of work. I am the supervisor, as well as Maura's good friend, and that night will not leave my mind. Please do not assume that I did not help Maura, because reading the recent post was upsetting. I love Maura, and I did everything in my power to help her. I held her as she was crying, I walked her back to her room, I gave her my cell phone so I could bring her to Dunkin Donuts in the morning. Previous to that I had begged to bring her to a campus counselor, or just out to Dunkins that night when she got out of shift. She told me that she was okay, and that she would be going home to a roommate (which I never realized beforehand that she had a single room). After Maura headed up to her room I did call my boss, telling him of the situation and that I did not like leaving her in such a condition. I was unable to go up to her dorm room because my walkie talkie gear would of not gotten a signal in the tower that she lives in.
Pike also wondered why I did not call her parents...I do not have access to her personal information, and I was only friends with her on a work-related atmosphere. The next morning I woke up ready to take Maura to Dunkins, however I could not get in contact with her and I had a five year old son at home with a flu.
I hope this post allows people to realize I did the most I could for my friend. I love Maura, and it is relieving to read up on all the posts of caring friends and family. "

White Wash, thanks for posting this as a refresher. Now re-reading this it's the first time I realized KM said she PREVIOUSLY begged Maura to go to a counselor. Maybe she just wrote this poorly but now I read it as "previous to that night."
She also wrote she walked Maura up to her room...and later writes she couldn't go see Maura because her walkie-talkie would not have gotten a signal.
I am not suggesting KM is involved in Mauras disappearnce; but imo, she had to know of what was so upsetting to Maura and one would think LE would know this info. Brings me all back to my original theory that the answer lies in Amherst OR West Point...along with the perp.

I think the Saturn was deliberately "crashed" at the Rt. 112 curve exactly so it could be found fairly soon after the "crash." I think prior arrangements were made in Amherst for some ONE person to be a "witness." That's why the Saturn was not stage-crashed in the more desolate WMNF. The Nazi-like microscopic emphasis by the Duck Patrol on the Rt. 112 curve implies that the story about the Saturn being in a crash there is false.

I think this story, complete with a witness and police buzz, was scripted in Amherst BEFORE the "crash" even occurred.
