Have you ever seen an ice hole drilled? I think Fish and Game would noticed a body size hole on a lake! They do patrol the lakes for ice fishing as well! Benjamin Franklyne wrote: <quoted text> Ice fishing. Cut a hole in the ice in a lake. Fish for fish swimming in water in the middle of February. This proves a hole could be cut in the lake. Ergo - a weighed down body could be dumped in it, never to resurface, theoretically. Have divers gone down there?

And I'm sure the man's own safety wasn't a factor here since he was in the road or dangerous spot cause that would support your cover theory right? I thought you lived in VT? Area is expanding I see! Anne wrote: <quoted text>Hi Old timer, I am also from this area and come here shocked at the objective of most is to desecrate a forum run by family members of a person whom went missing here. This is a sad forum. Most locals want to know what happened to her and they feel that with the kidness in their hearts. Read wowzers posts and I believe she/he feels that way. The most prominante point here is to bash mmm but there is nothing new here to replace anything already discussed over the past five years. If someone wants to point out some item that is new since this forum started, I would be interested to hear.

One time in 5 years! Lucky us compared to how many sending women hiding cause we have a murder on the loose and our LE suck? Sorry FireCat living and reading are very different for some of us! FireCat wrote: <quoted text> 1. what has this forum uncovered, exactly? In terms of facts. Please--I'm serious. 2. Setting aside that most of us probably aren't in this for the thanks, I actually HAVE been thanked, privately, by family members (and I include Sharon as one, as I know you do Suzanne), by investigators, by other forum members who do or don't know or are or aren't related to Maura. Fred Murray published a letter to the editor thanking the residents of the Haverhill area for their help.(at least one) It's probably been posted on MMM site, words of thanks. I don't know, because that's not one of the things I've been looking for to reread. They're not as important to me as clues, facts, information. One word of thanks? THAT'S what you're angry about??

M, here's the thing about Beagle. He does this. A lot. It's part of this....I don't know. MO? Personality? Shtick? As with anything, try not to take it presonally and just let the rest of it go by.(You'll notice he's said some pretty weird stuff about me lately too? Yeah. Restrained myself from answering because it's not worth the wear and tear on my keyboard.) And that's the fact, jack. Again, please stay. We need you--we need more local perspective. We need more brainpower. MAURA needs you.

I thought with your expertise that a simple question might help make some progress in a very conventional way. But even a conventional way is not allowed onto the table. Which confirms my ultimate theory. NO theory is allowed except one involving the specified actors, actors and props chosen in western Massachusetts. Ok, you know what Beagle? You're being a dick. Lay off M_Chaplin, would ya?

Of Shack doesn't remember she never remembers or accepts responsibly for any of PAIN AND SUFFERING she has cause to anyone! Those who have suffered at her hands can only hope and pray what has around to their family will come back 10 fold to her own family! Wowzer wrote: <quoted text> I'm sure others that were there will remember her saying when the conversation became libelous that she liked her house and didn't want to lose it. That was when the locals in the immediate area of the accident were being falsely accused of having something to do with Maura's disappearance by name and called rats in a nest, illiterate, scum bags and I could go on and on. Shack wanted to Lysol the whole bunch of us. Remember Shack?? The queen of the attack ducks never let up on the malicious attack of the area, state and locals and it continues to this day . Remember Shack?? I would have been concerned of the outcome too if I was running that forum

Hello all, I think it would be a timely reminder for us all to once again consider the possibility that it might not have been Maura that the SBD spoke to at the Saturn by the Weathered Barn. I agree that the young lady in question most likely was Maura, but there is no way for us to actually know that for sure. The fact is that we can not be entirely sure that Maura was ever in Haverhill/Swiftwater.

Its how people came up with the "scapegoat" concept all those gazillions of years ago.

In my extremely humble opinion (ha), I don't believe anyone in Woodsville/Haverhill harmed Maura, nor put her in a swamp/quarry where her remains will be difficult to find.

If you believe that the phone call Billy got on Wednesday 2/11 10AM might really have been from Maura, as Billy and Sharon thought, Maura surviving the nights of 2/9 and 2/10 will ring true (no pun intended). It is far more likely she was crying at a payphone while FREE than gaining use of a phone while being held captive!

Yes, there were a number of predators in the area of Maura's snowbank. And, YES, IMHO Maura knew how to avoid them. She did not "go quietly" or passively, evidenced by her telling Butch (in some way), "thanks, but no thanks" and she probably locked the doors after that.
